Greenwood House is a residential building, comprising 56 leasehold flats (with 999 year lease term). The house, as it is today, is the result of the re-development in 2000 of the East wing extension of Herrison Hospital (Dorset County Asylum), which was designed by asylum architect GT Hine and opened in 1895.
The building is not listed. However, it lies within the Charlton Down conservation area and is classed as being a locally important building by Dorset Council, due to it’s historical interest.
A residents management company – Woodlanders Management Ltd (WML) is owned by and accountable to the leaseholders for the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds. Templehill Property Management Limited is appointed by WML as the managing agent responsible for the day-to-day estate management of the property.
